Urquhart upsets Bailey to make main draw

New South Wales’s Donna Urquhart upset the higher ranked Tania Bailey of England on Tuesday to qualify for the main draw of the CIMB KL Open in Kuala Lumpur.
Urquhart beat Bailey in five games 11-9, 13-11, 9-11, 7-11, 12-10 to make the first round, where she will play fifth seeded Irishwoman Madeline Perry on St Patrick’s Day.
She joined fellow Australian Kasey Brown in the main draw.
Brown, the eighth seed, takes on English qualifier Sarah Kippax in the first round ahead of a probably quarter-final against Malaysia’s top seed Nicol David.
There are two Australians in the Men's main draw – fifth seed Stewart Boswell faces Malaysian Asyraf Azan while sixth seed Cameron Pilley is up against Englishman Jonathan Kemp.
Meanwhile, Zac Alexander and Wade Johnstone have progressed to final qualifying for the Rocky Mountains Open in Calgary.
Alexander beat England’s Joel Hinds 11-3, 9-11, 6-11, 11-3, 11-9 and Johnstone downed Kiwi Paul Tuffin 11-8, 11-6, 5-11, 11-3.
